Barbara Keller is the CASA Program Manager for CASA of the Eastern Sierra.
She was born in Romania and raised in Germany. In 2006 she graduated from the University of Applied Science with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Shortly after her graduation, she relocated to the United States. Over the past 14 years her and her husband welcomed three beautiful children into their lives and settled down in Bishop, California.
Barbara comes with many years of knowledge in finance, prevention, child development, and social work. She has gained her recent experience working for Inyo County First 5. Over the course of almost three years, she was trained in various modules of the parenting curriculum Triple P, and facilitated groups in our community and at the jail. She also oversaw the Ages & Stages Developmental Screening Program and First 5’s Literacy Program. Working for Inyo County Frist 5 gave her the opportunity to cultivate relationships with numerous community partners and to put her passion for media design to great use.
Barbara’s main goal for CASA is to grow the program so they can serve more children that have been placed in foster care due to abuse or neglect. She is also working on establishing a stronger presence in our community, collaborating closely with partner agencies, expanding CASA’s marketing and social media efforts, and continue to bring more awareness to Child Abuse Prevention overall.
Barbara is very excited about this new chapter in her professional journey. The well-being of children has always been very important to her and has only grown in significance since she had children of her own. She is looking forward to serving our community and to brighten the future of children experiencing abuse, neglect, or who are in the juvenile justice system.
